Austin, TX Girls Weekend in May

Anonymous
I'm looking for suggestions for hotels and spas in Austin, TX for a girls' 3-5 day weekend. Ideally, we would love to have a hotel where we could lounge at the pool/spa and have walking access to tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. I would also love suggestions on restaurants and things to do. TIA!

Just did this last fall. Was too cold for pool but our hotel (W hotel) had a good rooftop one. We liked the hotel, had a good bar and great breakfast/brunch restaurant attached, and was convenient to shops. Hotel also has a spa but we went to Milk and Honey spa, also walking distance to hotel. Where you can't walk, everything is a cheap cab ride away (no uber or Lyft, but similar company called Fasten). Things to do: walk around the lake, your the Capitol, shopping/eating along Congress St. Do a search in this forum, I got some good restaurant recommendations here.

Oasis is a cool spot for drinks at sunset - but food's not good and someone would have to be DD as it's a bit of a drive.

I liked the food there. The view is great and the venue is fun.

Downtown, the Athenian is a great place for Greek food.

If you like gardens and flowers, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is nice.

The Kimpton Hotel is great. It's called Hotel Van Zandt. They have a pool (with underwater speakers) on the roof. It's right by great bars (Clive bar is excellent) and all the food trucks on Rainey St.

For late night eats (or anytime) go to 24 Diner-a farm to table 24/7 diner. I still dream about the spicy honey chicken & biscuit. They slap have a great bartender. http://24diner.com/mobile/

Check out Travaasa outside Austin. Tons of fun activities. Great for a girls weekend.

Thank you all for your suggestions! The Travaasa was full and we ended up booking the W Austin.

Oasis is fun! Line can be long. We rented a lake house and took an Uber there and back. Love going to Austin
