How is IUI any different then TI?

Well, IUI is used, at least by my RE, when using Clomid because Clomid dries cervical mucus. TI is just what it sounds like, you have sex after you give yourself the trigger shot and for a few days after that. IUI requires sperm to be "washed" and inserted directly into the uterus, bypassing the cervix. With TI the sperm get in the uterus the old fashioned way. IUI is done in the doctor's office. TI is done wherever you and your husband choose to have sex.

Both use some sort of drug, Clomid or some sort of injectable.
