| I am a first time mom- due in May. I need to work on getting child care lined up to begin when I return to work after Labor Day. I will need full time Monday through Friday, live in Kensington. I am not even sure where to start! Someone suggested Circle Time but the number I was given seems to be their fax number, so am working on that. I also was told to look into Monday Morning Moms but am a little confused about how that works. Do they just refer you to a child care center? Is it free? I am open to centers but grew up in an in home daycare so that is where my comfort level is at this time, not interested in a nanny/au pair. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! |

Great questions. Monday Morning Moms is not a bad concept. Is like a childcare referring agency for providers. Providers sign up with them. And MMM comes to their childcare homes and observe and ensure that everything is up to code. I've had several students in the past used to recruit families. And they have shared that the way it works is quite simple. You pay MMM and they keep a portion. I recall a student telling me about 2 years ago that parents were paying $220/w to MMM and the provider was getting $200/week.But please don't quote me on this. That is what I was told.
Best of luck finding a place for your baby. Here is my recently opened family/center: www.nurturing discoveries. Virtual Tour: https://vimeo.com/201710772 |
