Pet boarding - where do you take your pet? (N Va)

I'm looking for a good place to board my dog in Arlington, Fairfax or Falls Church. The place we have been taking him always charges tons of extra fees - it seems he always gets diarrhea or has some other problem while there, whereas he never seems to have pricey problems when staying other places.

Not sure if Alexandria is inconvenient for you, but we love Dogtopia off Duke Street. We're sort of neurotic about our dog, and felt completely comfortable with this facility. Dogtopia is also cageless boarding.

After using cageless boarding for years, my older dog got stressed and very ill while we were away. To my surprise, my vet recommended Pet Smart. Very clean facilties, a separate area for each pet sleeping and the option of daycare. My dog has done very well there and never gotten ill. An even better alternative is to find a young co-worker who will be your live in dog sitter either at your place or hers--this worked well for us.
