APS Montessori parents: how did you decide whether to pursue Montessori through elementary?

Anonymous
Our children are in the APS Montessori program at Drew. It seems like a good program, but I don't have particular allegiance to Montessori as a pedagogy. We mostly wanted our kids in a well-regarded, nearby, affordable preschool. Our older will be K age next school year. I'm assuming we will keep her where she is, but I've heard that some parents pull their kids for K and send them to their neighborhood schools. If you did so, or considered doing so but then stuck with Montessori, can you share some of your thought process and what things you considered? I'm interested not only in the K question but through elementary, and then into middle school (I believe Gunston has a middle school Montessori program). Many thanks.

Following with interest. We plan to do Montessori pre k and are considering staying for elementary as well.
It will be relocated to what is currently the building that houses Patrick Henry elementary, correct?

This is OP and that is correct for the Drew program. I believe school year 2019-20 will be the first year in Henry.

I'm trying to decide too. This is our first year. I know we will stay through K because I think you need the full three years to see the impact that Montessori has. Our school goes to 8 and I'm not sure if we will stay that long. I went to Montessori school and left after first due to older sibling graduating. I went to a small private after and was pulled out of some classes and went to higher level classes because I was advanced. Our neighborhood school is great and 3 minutes away while the Montessori school is.about 25 minutes away.
