| So what does this mean for MoCo and specifically, MCPS? Do you think MoCo will continue as a sanctuary city and risk losing federal funding? |
| Moco isn't a city |
| MoCo is not a sanctuary city. Takoma Park is though. |
sorry, hit submit too soon. People think MoCO is a sanctuary, but it isn't. http://patch.com/maryland/silverspring/s/g0fbi/trump-s-sanctuary-city-attack-montgomery-county-pushes-back?utm_source=alert-breakingnews&utm_medium=email&utm_term=politics%20%26%20government&utm_campaign=alert |
OP, thanks for posting. I heard MoCo be referred to as a sanctuary county on the news! |
| Montgomery County might not be officially a SC but nobody told Silver Spring and Langley Park that they weren't. Go visit Piney Branch Blvd, you might not find a legal citizen. |
What would this have to do with MCPS? |
It's Piney Branch Road, first of all. And second of all, there is a small stretch of it that is heavily hispanic. The middle part of the white high-isn income part of Takoma Park that is adjacent to the historic district, and the bottom part is in DC and is heavily black and/or gentrifying. So...it looks like AMERICA's demographics do? Is that your point? |
If they pull all federal funding, that impacts Title 1, FARMS, ,IDEA funds, and more. |
| Let's just call Takoma Park a sanctuary city -- maybe the whole place just gets deported. Fine with me. |

House Republicans with oversight over the nation’s capital are investigating D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser’s plan to use local tax dollars to defend illegal immigrants from deportation. |
| Good. |
