I feel defeated.
There's so much happening in our house these past few weeks I completely missed the deadline. Stomach virus, flu (even though I had the shot), starting a new job, anniversary of death of a child, the list goes on. I'm waiting for a call back from the FA person at the school. I'm hoping that because it's still so early in the process this mistake won't negatively impact us (if DC is accepted). Especially because the school's admission's deadline hasn't even come yet.

Good luck. Hopefully they have some understanding and compassion. |
| This really doesn't matter much. It's so early after the deadlines, that schools are still reading applications. If they want to take you and give you money, they still will. If they don't, they won't. But it won't be because of missing the deadline. That all changes later in the process, but for right now, they haven't yet given away any of the money for next year. |
| You'll be fine. Currently FA offices are focused on returning students, they haven't even started with new applicants |
| I agree with pp. If they want your family, and admit your kid, they will dispense FA as needed. The problem may be that a missed deadline is a ding on you. I don't have to tell you how next to impossible it is to get into the better independent schools. Let's face it, so many applicants/families are equally competitive. If you needed a tie breaker, this missed deadline could tank your kids' chances. I hope I'm wrong. Seems like you had a lot going on. But you posted on here wanting honest feedback. Well there it is. |
And it is appreciated! I spoke to the FA person a few minutes ago and was told it's no problem at all. So I'll cross that off of my list of things to worry about and just be ready for whatever happens. |
| Phew. Glad for you, OP. Good luck! |
