As they say, “I guess that is the price for freedom.” Though who exactly was taking our freedom? I’m still waiting for a clear explanation on this matter. Ten months ago, we obliterated (Trump’s words) Iran’s nuclear capabilities- set them back ten years. Now, we are in Iran because they are a threat. I thought we took care of the threat? Finally, I would argue that Iran, due to our recent actions, is more dangerous today, than it’s ever been. The whole Persian Gulf region, always fragile and tenuous, is now more unstable.

The Iranians were not developing nuclear weapons. Iran has been enriching nuclear materials for 35 years and been weeks away from making a nuclear weapon. The only reason they have not made a nuclear weapon is become they do not want to make a nuclear weapon. The old leader placed a Fatwa against it. We should be rewarding countries that decide not to make nuclear weapons. Especially older.

Iran enriched uranium to 60%. That is the hard part. It takes 1-4 weeks to enrich to 90%. In 35 years they have never done this.

This war is a disaster and Trump took us to war for Israel. Everyone of the US demands to end the war are Israeli demands. The gulf oil infrastructure has been damaged and is out for 5-7 years. Oil will remain high till 2030 but most countries are going to move to electrification of their economies. Energy independence for the majority of countries is a call to China.

The State Department has supplied this handy clear explanation.
