Parent interview in Lowell

Anonymous
for those who apply to lowell, have all of you doneparent interview or at least have it scheduled ? dc did the playdate in Jan. at the time we were told that they will contact use in a few days about parent interview. but it is mid Feb. we have not heard anything from school. does that mean our kid gets scrreen out after the play date and the parent interview only holds for those potential candidate? dc did pretty well in the playdate except I am sure how he did for those tests of their benchmark.

You should call them. I think they may have had a lot of applicants this year, according to a friend who went there recently with her kid for a visit.

How do you know how he did in the playdate- were you allowed in?

What are these tests? And how old is your child?

Is the parent interview for Pre-K?

I do not think that Lowell has a parent interview, or at least they did not two years ago! Just a playdate. And given that decision letters are mailed in just a few weeks, it seems awfully late to be starting them. Definitely call since you may have misunderstood the process.

I think the parent interviews are new this year (since the new head of school started).

Current Lowell parent here: I would definitely just give them a call to check on it and see if they want you to come in for one. (This is new since we started, but I am sure it will not be a high stress thing). I hope things work out for you if that is what you want. We love the school and our kids are thriving there.
