| Is there a reason, other than spite and vindictiveness, that Republicans in Congress insist on imposing their will on the people of DC, who did not vote for them? If they want to institute open carry in Congress, they certainly have my blessing to do so, but Washingtonians want gun control (among other things). |
| Makes me crazy. So much for the sentiment of "states rights". |
| Republicans love, love, love cheap theatrics. What's better than imposing "American values" on godless inner city dwellers in the Nation's capital? |
Godless? You cant walk a block without seeing a church in this town. |
Exactly. |
Their constituents back home, who've never left the county they were born in, don't know that. |
You speak as if DC were almost half african american, rather than being populated 100% by lobbyists and congressmen. |
DC is not a state. |
|
"You speak as if DC were almost half african american..."
What's this supposed to mean? |
not the PP, but some folks can't help but throw African-American/Black in any topic. You see, since Emancipation, America has had a "Negro Problem". |
| Just the United States Constitution. |
| The DC government's record has been more home fool that home rule. |
Do you really believe that? |
Do I literally believe that their constituents have never left the county? No. Do I believe that railing against a stereotype of urban decay in general and Washington DC specifically, that has no basis in reality, is an easy way of scoring cheap political points with a mostly rural constituency that has little personal experience with urban life? Absolutely. |
Um, no. It's sarcasm. If you can't figure that out there's no point in explaining the rest to you. |
