This is a different topic to posts in jobs and is not political. It relates directly to the money forum. It is in the correct forum which regularly discusses topics related to income and wealth. Different forms have different tones. I deliberately choose that forum to ask respondents how they felt the freeze would impact them personally, particularly their own economic prospects.

I'm not Jeff, but I don't see why that's different than a thread in the Jobs forum.

Jobs is about what it means to feds and their actual jobs. My thread is about the economic impact to the region as a whole. The potential knock on impact to us all. Less money to spend, lower house prices, increased competition for other jobs. Money forum readers are wealthy (not me, but on the whole) - do they think this will have an impact on b there bottom line.

The jobs discussion is about whose agency said what etc.

As you note, the hiring freeze will likely impact the local economies, housing prices, and job competition. Therefore, arguments could be made for the topic to be discussed in the Money forum, the Real Estate forum, and the Jobs forum, not to mention the Political Forum given that it is a political decision. I am not convinced that we need four threads on this single topic. We might not even need two, but I am allowing that because posts from the Political forum don't appear in Recent Topics. Feel free to discuss the economic ramifications of the decision in either of the two remaining threads.
