(I need to start doing something other then putting my hair in a ponytail when I have to get out the door quickly with my kids, so that is why I'm looking for hair accessories.)

| I use clips and headbands from JCrew. |

Don't necessarily cut it short. To some extent, that's a regional prejudice around here.
Anthropologie sometimes has good hair accessories. |

| I gotta say that I think hair accesories are kind of juvenile. If you go to Europe, you see a lot of women with really chic hair cuts and not a hair accessory in sight. I understand if you're going to the gym or something like that, but really, hair clips are for kids! I was one of those that constantly had my hair in a bun, and finally got a cute haircut that was easy to maintain and I think I look so much better. |
| It has been 5 years since I lived in Europe, but I remember a higher percentage of middle-aged women with long hair who often put their up. |
| proper topper in dupont + g'town have a great selection of accessories--hair and other. |

OP here. Thanks to those of you with helpful responses.
I think hair accessories can go either way, looking either chic or too young. It depends on how you put up your hair. And a lot of the accessories say "Made in France", so they do wear their hair up there! |

TOTALLY a regional prejudice for women to resemble men as much as possible! NOT that there's anything wrong with that....... |
When I referred to the regional prejudice a few days ago, I guess I meant serious, structured cuts. I don't usually think they're masculine, but they're severe. |
