Can anyone provide current information about Maryvale ES?? Anyone??

I've searched the archives and I have yet to find detailed information about Maryvale ES. I'm interested in the immersion program, but also the non-immersion program as it is our home school. What is the school like? Are current parents happy with the school? Interested in hearing from parents who have kids in immersion language and non-immersion language. Thank you!

Current immersion parent. We've been there for 7 years (more than 1 kid in immersion) and we have been very happy there. We have had very few complaints over the years and have been very happy with the kids' teachers.

Thank you. How have your kids progressed in French? Are they fluent? If they were not in immersion would you send them to the school?

Another immersion parent here, also very happy with the school. The French program is great and the school community is good as well. If Maryvale was our home school I would not hesitate to send my children there. Class sizes for the English classrooms are small, ~15 kids per class. You could always attend a PTA meeting (check school website for times and dates) and chat with some of the current parents. People are very friendly and would likely be happy to answer your questions.

I created this website. My daughter is in 1st grade in the French program and Maryvale is our home school, as well.

I have a kid in the special needs preschool classroom - can I just be bitchy...the building isn't in the best shape, the parents of the non immersion classes aren't very involved, lots of kids arrive late, some of the front office aren't very friendly.

But, that's just my viewpoint. The students seem happy!

To the above poster, I'm a Maryvale parent and I couldn't agree more about the un-friendly front office (it's just the one woman, really). It's not a welcoming first impression and she always acts like you are bothering her and never says hello to the children (or parents!). BUT, the new principal seems really great and is very friendly. Time will tell. As far as the building goes, it is one of the oldest in the county and that is why they are building a whole new one starting next year. So, we will have a brand new school in a few years!
