Looking for a good, reasonably priced personal shopper -- and one who doesn't ask you to spend $500 on a pair of pants.

1.) Alison Lukes. Used to work at Celine (Paris), fabulous eye. www.alisonlukes.com
2.) Fabiana Mesquita. Owns Daisy in Bethesda, reworks your closet and guarantees at least 10 new outfits from what you already own (and will give you a laundry list of what else you need, and doesn't push her own stuff, which is nice). [e-mail].

You should check out www.aici.org and find a list of professionally-trained and certified consultants. Call them up and ask about their work, qualifications and describe your goals. Whomever you choose, make sure that your personalities click - this is a very personal service.
