| Has anyone had their OB suggest they stop Lovenox after being prescribed it by an RE? I've had a chemical pregnancy and an early miscarriage and the RE found some minor clotting issues (only one thing was high by just a few points). My OB hasn't formally made the recommendation yet as she was waiting for my full record. Will she talk to the RE? Of course I don't want to stay on this (I'm currently 11 weeks) if I don't have to, but am clearly nervous. |

No never, go see an MFM if you are going to be on lovenox for the duration of your pregnancy. Your OB may not be 100% comfortable with overseeing you on that medication - and that's okay. That's what the MFM is for. Any clotting issues will be compounded by hormone levels during pregnancy so it's not necessarily a good idea to go off them unless absolutely necessary.
Is your risk for bleeding elevated for any reason? For example, do you have placenta previa? What dosage of lovenox are you on? |
| My OB didn't say she isn't comfortable monitoring, she just believes that it is over prescribed and not medically necessary in a lot of cases. I don't have any increased bleeding risk and am on 40ml shot once a day. |
| I have 2 kids. I had a chemical pregnancy before my second kid, and I had a clotting panel done. They found 2 minor clotting issues. my RE sent me to a hematologist, who recommended Lovenox starting at embryo transfer. For my second kid, I did that, and I continued through whole pregnancy. Was monitored by the hematologist once a month. I am sure a MFM could monitor it also. my OB was very supportive of continuing. I didnt take any Lovenox for kid #1, because I hadn't discovered this issue, and obviously I got pregnant and everything turned out ok. But its kinda like once you know you have something, ... |
| I did. I had 2 chemicals and stayed on until 12 weeks. Have a heathy 1 year old now. |
| I stayed on lovenox until I was 30 weeks--I ended up going into pre-term labor and having 31 weeker twins. My MFM gave me literature and told me lovenox was over-perscribed. My Ob was relaxed about. Both left it up to me and I stayed on it as long as possible. I was also on 40ml once a day. |

It's 40 MG not ML. I guarantee you aren't injection 40 mls.
Good god people! |
Who was your MFM? Did you test positive for any clotting issues? |
| Which OB are you seeing? I would have loved to have an OB who would have let me stop versus mine who basically scared us into staying on it the whole pregnancy, which led to an extremely traumatic labor. |
| I'm seeing the OBs at Foxhall. |
