I ovulated on 1/9 (confirmed by charting and ovulation testing). I took a Clearblue early pregnancy test today with first morning urine and it was negative. i should have gotten my period today, but I ovulated late and am only 10DPO. Any chance this is a false negative and I Should I take another test? If So, when should I test again?
Hate to get my hopes up again if its unlikely the test is wrong. Its been a long road lined with negative pregnancy tests, so if its unlikely I am pregnant then I dont want to test again

| I would wait until you miss your period and then test then. 10 days dpo is early. |
| I got a positive at 10 dpo, but it was suuuuuuper faint. Like questionably faint. I'd wait until 12 or 13 dpo, especially if your calculations are off. |
OP here. This seems like a really stupid question, but how do I know when I have missed my period? I should have gotten it today based on a 28 day cycle (very regular), but I am wondering whether the late ovulation threw it off and I have not actually missed my period? |
Thanks. I'll wait a few more days. |

When I was charting my cycles, I would assume I'd get my period any where from 28 days to 35 days. Not everyone's cycles are bang all all the time. Especially when you're under the stress of TTC.
If you get impatient, like I did, just buy the most sensitive test you can get your hands on. I used the Clear Blue Plus Pregnancy test. |
| At 10dpo I'd only bother testing with a FRER, with a pink dye cheapie coming in a close second. |
The 88 cent first signal test from Walmart picked up my current pregnancy before frer did. I was shocked as it was only 8 dpo or so. |
| You're not necessarily out yet if you're only 10 DPO. Give it a few more days and test again if you don't get your period. I got a negative at 10 DPO almost three years ago today, who today is a 2 year old sleeping upstairs. (I got a positive at 14dpo. Didn't test in between so I don't know if it would have turned earlier). |
| You are supposed to get your period 14 days after you ovulate. 28 days means nothing. What is usual means nothing. So you are not actually late yet. |
| If your cycle is normally 28 days, that does NOT mean you O on CD14 and get your period 14 days later. If you tested for O for the first time this cycle and O'ed on CD18, it's entirely possible that that is your "normal" and that you have a short luteal phase. I'd get a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and read it, stat. |
| Another poster here who has done 11 IVFs, has 2 kids, and 5 chemical pregnancies. You get a positive on 10DPO. I got a faint faint squinter positive on FRER at 10DPO with all my chemicals, and my kids. Even when HCG is super low, by 10DPO, you can get a positive. But you have to be sure it's 10DPO, which you obviously always are with IVF. |
Here we go again. No 10 dpo is not early. It's not an all is lost situation yet but in a day or two it will be. |
| OP here. Tested yesterday and it was negative. AF came today, 16 DPO. Thanks everyone. |
