Thinking about enrolling my 6-yr-old at CASA@Sheridan this summer. Anyone have feedback on the swim instruction? My kid is a beginner.
My 6-yr-old daughter did this at CASA last year. Swimming is not a big focus for them. She enjoyed going to the pool but I think the instruction was minimal (and on Fridays, it was "free swim" or no instruction).
Agree with PP--swimming not a big focus here. We thought the setup with lessons at AU was much better through Summer Horizons at Natl Pres. School camp.
So do you think the swimming is worth doing for the extra fee, just to get them some time in the water? Or would you advise saving the money, avoiding the bus ride, and staying at the main camp? If it is not super instructional, is at least still safe and fun for little ones who don't yet know how to swim (thinking of my rising kindergartner). Thanks for feedback. |
NP here -- I have the exact same question as OP and would love to know this too -- if not super instructional, is the swimming setup at least safe and fun? My rising K daughter loves art, so I'm definitely thinking Sheridan will be good for her, but I also want her to get some pool time in and swim instruction if possible.
My kids loved the arts at CASA but if swimming is a goal you might consider Lowell, they offer swim lessons in an indoor pool on campus every day.
Agree with all comments that swimming is not main focus--but we're still signed up to have our 6 year old do it for the fun and variety. Definitely no concerns about safety!
