I live down here (live in PB County, work in Broward) and most of the OBs aren't worried about it anymore. There was a significant amount of spraying done to kill mosquitoes and aside from the transmission areas that are still under watch in Miami-Dade county most people barely think about it anymore.

| We are 9.5 weeks pregnant and have basically written off any travel to southern or tropical destinations for the time being. While the risk may have dipped during winter months, it is not worth it to us to gamble on something with such significant consequences. |
| I went to palm beach county recently and called their department of health and that was reassuring. What I learned is that local transmission means transmitted in Florida, not necessarily in palm beach county. As of November when I called, there had been no actual cases of transmission by a mosquito in the county, people who were affected had travelled to Miami (or abroad). With this info we went on our trip as it was an important family trip, but I probably would skip something that was more optional. |
we are pregnant? |
Yes, "we". My husband and I make joint decisions involving the health and well-being of our family. You know, team like. |
Huh. My husband and I make joint decisions and operate as a team as well, but I'm the only pregnant one in this scenario. Unfortunately. Wish I could share this nausea with him. |
NP. Anyone who is this judgy about how a stranger chooses to refer to their pregnancy should work on getting a little self esteem. Sorry if your husband is a jerk pp. I don't use the phrasing op does but cannot imagine being mean to someone who did. Grow up pp. |
Learn grammar, PP. |

| I was in Miami for a week and I never saw a mosquito. None. And mosquitoes usually love me. |
