Food and groceries at Bethany Beach

Anonymous
We're off to Bethany for the first time. Can veterans tell us what the best grocery stores (similar to Whole Foods) and good family-friendly restaurants (for all 3 meals) are in that area? I've done some googling but want to hear from those in the know. TIA!

There's nothing like a Whole Foods out there. Lower Delaware is very rural. The best bet would be stuff in Rehoboth, but I'm not familiar with much up there.

There's a fairly new Giant in Millville, west of the beach on Route 26. There is also a Hockers, which for many years was "the" grocery store for Bethany Beach. Local-owned, carries everything from vegetables to hardware and sells gas. It's huge.

Giant:

Hockers Superstore is at the corner of Route 26 (Garfield Pkwy turns into Atlantic Ave) and Route 17 (Roxanna Rd.). There's a Food Lion out there, too, although I prefer the Giant.

McCabe's Gourmet Market is a nice little place on Coastal Highway in South Bethany. It carries more upscale types of prepared foods and baked goods.

There's a Rainbow Earth Natural Food Store up in Rehoboth. http://rainbowefoods.com/

I don't know much about restaurants for all three meals. I only go out to eat for dinner there, and all restaurants are child-friendly. There are a few diner/country cooking type things like the Frog House, which serve breakfast/lunch/dinner. It's OK, not my favorite. http://www.beach-net.com/froghouse/ I think Warren's Station in Fenwick serves breakfast.

Cottage Inn at Sea Colony Marketplace is very family friendly, but I'm not sure if they do breakfast. Also Grotto Pizza, Armand's, Big Fish, Frog House, the BBQ place in Bethany, Surf's Up Pizza and Subs. The whole area is pretty family friendly.
