Using FSA credit card at Costco

Anonymous
I went to go pick up contacts the other day and my FSA credit card was rejected at Costco (it worked last year). Mentioned this to my sister and her FSA credit card was rejected at Costco too. I had figured this was a glitch with my card and that the money hadn't loaded yet for 2017 or something. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a new Costco policy? The eyeglass center guy I asked didn't know.

It's extremely difficult for me to get reimbursed, so I just wanted to ask before I take my prescription elsewhere.

I recently tried to buy eyeglasses at Costco using my FSA credit card as payment. It was rejected.
When I called my FSA provider they said that it was rejected because the Costco register was coded as a wholesale club rather than a pharmacy or optical provider.
The folks at Costco suggested I just use another card and submit to my FSA for reimbursement. I declined.

I just got the same explanation for the rejection Sunday of my FSA card from their support staff. It was not a problem last year but I guess things change.

OP here. Yeah I got declined again over the weekend. My FSA is extremely difficult and slow to reimburse. I will try to transfer the contact lens prescription elsewhere then.

Not OP, but I would decline as well. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get reimbursed from my flexible spending claims.

I see from the thread of posts that Costco pharmacy and FSA cards haven't learned how to play well together. The same problem that existed 3+ years ago still exists today, Jan 4, 2021!!! Oy vey.

Mine works. I get an alert from my FSA account (via ADP) that I need to validate the swipe then just upload my receipt.
