Looking for possibly a unicorn. For a family vacation we are looking for a hotel with suites close to the beach (ideally a block or so).
Some family is in NJ, some from DC area. Any specific beach/hotel suggestions? |
| Bump? |
| we need a little more info than that. where do you want to go? |
| Budget? |
| I think there's a residence Inn on the beach in VA Beach. I've never been there, but they have suites. |
| OP, ideally Jersey shore or Delaware/Maryland beaches. Budget up to $300 a night. |

by suite do you mean multiple bedrooms? or a kitchen? Or what? This is not hard to find.
Off the top of my head in Ocean City, MD there is the Holiday Inn and Suites Oceanfront on 17th, the Hilton- also ocean front. Carousal which is also Ocean Front- by way North- has condo's some of which have multiple bedrooms. I'm most familiar with the Holiday Inn and Suites. You enter the suite in a small living room with a pullout couch. Then there is a galley kitchen, and a bathroom. Then a bedroom with a door. |

Most people who want different bdrms rent a condo. That's kind of the big difference between a hotel room and a condo. With the condo you get a bigger kitchen than any hotel room that is called a suite.
Try cbvacations.com. You can do mini-weeks for some units as well as weekly rentals. |
IN SEASON?? You'd have better luck finding an actual unicorn. |

Your budget is going to be the deal breaker.
There is a Hampton Suites between Duck and Corolla in OBX but in season is usually around 600/night. If staying for more than 3 days you are better off renting a house. |
| Sheraton Key West, if you are willing to go to Florida. We got two side-by-side suites with a connecting door. |
| Brighton Suites Hotel in Rehoboth. Depending on where your NJ family is, Rehoboth would be about halfway. Rates for weeknights in August (when I have gone) are around $300/night. It is less than 2 blocks from the beach, and a plus is that they have free beach towels, umbrellas, and beach chairs. However, it is not an upscale hotel, so read the reviews carefully. We were fine staying there because we liked the separate bedroom but the living room area is very small. Mostly families with kids stay there. |
| Dunes village in Myrtle Beach |

You may want to check redweek for time share rentals. We got a fabulous Marriott suite rental on the beach in Hilton head--I think it was a little more than 300/night but it was a very popular vacation week so very high demand.
The Marriott time shares are very nice. I think Sheraton too although I haven't stayed in those. |
| People, OP said Jersey or Delaware/MD. She doesn't want to drive to Hilton Head. |
