Catholic colleges

DC is looking at several not quite at the level of ND, BC & Georgetown. I'd love to hear from anyone with experiences at some middle America/east coast schools.

There are lots of great Catholic schools. Which ones were you interested in? A city? Region? Size?

Christendom College and Thomas Aquinas College are the two best authentic Catholic colleges in America.

If you are willing to look west, Santa Clara in California. They have a great business and engineering school. Their graduates go on to work in Silicon Valley. Payscale.com rates them very high for return on investment. They also have a beautiful campus. Marquette (WI) is also a good school but the campus cannot compare. Also in California- not as competitive but still good schools are LMU and University of San Diego.

Xavier University is my alma mater - loved it. I've also heard good things about Marquette, John Carroll, University of Dayton, Creighton, and LeMoyne. I'd recommend Jesuit schools over all other Catholics, but I'm biased.

I went to grad school with someone who had done her BA (in Classics, concentration Latin) at John Carroll in Cleveland. She was impressively intelligent and well articulate, so a good advertisement for that school to me (and she's the only one I've ever met who went there). She loved it and always spoke so highly of the place. Her stories of her college days always reminded me of Donna Tartt's The Secret History.

Marquette University and St. Louis University are two that stand out for us. We know kids who have attended each and those kids have impressed us mightily with their intellects and their accomplishments. Vastly different schools but both kids have been very happy at their chosen schools. They are worth a look.

Oh, I forgot Creighton. Another poster referenced it as well. It is a fabulous school and they are having an awesome basketball season this year!

That's a bunch of BS. I've been very impressed with what I've seen of people who come from Jesuit schools.

That doesn't make the schools Catholic. They don't follow the Magisterium and the teachings of the Church. Jesuit colleges have been taken over by the Leftist/LGBT lobby. Here's a list of some authentic Catholic colleges.

Basically from here north. Maybe Ohio are or around there. We will look at Xavier. Have already seen Loyola Chicago and Holy Cross (didn't like so much) and Providence (liked). Anyone with info on Fairfield? Fordham? Sacred Heart? Seton Hall?
