Infertility Support and Discussion
Well, it finally happened, a BFP! After TTC since November 2007, 2 rounds of Clomid IUI, I POAS Sunday and saw two pink lines and had a positive beta today (196). I go back Wednesday and Friday to confirm doubling. Now of course I'm anxious to know when I'm likely to have an ultrasound. Anyone know when Shady Grove normally schedules them?
I had one after the 3rd beta (about 5 weeks) but that was a little early. They did it earlier than usual because the beta was quite doubling. After the 5 wk they did another a week later and so on...
I think the norm is no earlier than 6w2d or 6w3d. I had one at 5w6d, but that was a special exception because I was going to be gone all the following week and my doctor was going to be gone the week after that. Congrats!
usually they do them around 6w
Two years ago they only did u/s's at 6 and 8 weeks. This year they gave me the option if I wanted to have them at 6 and 7 weeks but I opted for 6 and 8 weeks.

OP here - thanks for all of the feedback. Sounds like 6 w or so is the norm. Was just trying to figure out whether I would likely have one before I want to tell parents - sort of feel like with all we've been through I want to tell immediate family right away, in case something bad happens and I need the support. But hopefully nothing bad will happen ... positive thoughts!
Oh Yeah! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Congrats! I received a BFP after my first IVF. I had an u/s after the third Beta which was shy of the doubling target number, as a precaution and because of my history of miscarriage and ectopic. I am 5 weeks and 4days. My next u/s is not for another two weeks.
6w0d is the earliest they do, unless there is a reason to do it before - like odd betas.
