Are kids in school on Jan 19?

The DCPS bulletin today said the kids are out of school 1/16 for MLK and 1/20 for inauguration. I also thought 1/19 was not a day of school. Did I read that wrong?

No school for students, half day for teachers.

No school for DCPS schools on the traditional calendar (end of term/PD day for teachers). It appears to be a school day for schools on the extended year calendar.

Traditional school calendar - no school for students, fun day for teachers (half day PD, half day work on report cards).

Four-day weekend following a three-day weekend. PA ski areas, here come the DCPS families! No lines!

As a DCPS teacher I can assure you that those are not fun days for us. More like torture days, especially the PD part.

Totally understand - I meant "full" day for teachers, not "fun" day. Don't know how it got "corrected" to say fun.
