How much does it cost to have a zipper replaced on a coat?

Anonymous
I broke the zipper on my longish puffer. Anybody have an idea what it would cost to replace it? Even ballpark would be helpful. Trying to decide if I should just order a new one or find someone to do the job.

"Just buy new coat."

This is what the tailor told me when I asked.

I hired someone a few years back she charged me 10 that included the zipper. I think I got a very good deal

I think I paid $25-40. I've kept the coat at least 5 years longer so far. Seems wasteful not to try.

It seems silly not to try if the coat is otherwise in good shape. Montgomery Mall has a tailor that does alterations. They may be able to give you a price over the phone.

I just took a Patagonia fleece to a repair shop to get a zipper fixed and he wanted $80 (!!!) to replace it!

The tailor at Lamont Cleaners on mount pleasant did that for a coat for me for $40

I just brought my daughters down coat in for a zipper repair - they're charging me $35. I was surprised at the cost but … it's better than buying a whole new down coat.

I just had a zipper replaced on luggage (which is harder than a coat). $20. Take it to your dry cleaner for a quote.

Got my husband’s done for around $20. Really worth it since he loves that coat.

What is the brand name? My puppy chewed my husbands new Patagonia Puffer jacket zipper. We sent it in to them and they replaced it for free! They would rather fix it than it end up in a landfill!

You could try and call the company.
