Surge in enrollment?

Has your public school seen a surge in enrollment the last few months? Our elementary school has gained over 50 students since the end of September.
Trying to figure out if it is specific to our school or if it is system wide.

I don't think it's uncommon, and I know it's happened occasionally in prior years as my DD's elementary school. The big problem comes with schools not gaining additional funds/resources under student-based budgeting for kids that arrive after the October school census.
