How would you rank the following:
Two Rivers (both campuses) Inspired Teaching SWS Capital hill Montessori- Logan It's so hard to tell from open houses alone. I would love to hear from current parents. |
| Where do you live? |
| OP here - I should say I realize these are all long shots and that we are likely going to end up at our meh IB school. |
| We live on the hill and one parent works from home so drop off isn't a big deal. |
|
Well I would rank it like this:
SWS Two rivers 4th St CHML IT Two Rivers young |
| It really depends on your preferences. Is the lack of good outdoor space at 2R4 or the Planned Parenthood thing a concern for you? If so, maybe put Young higher. I would consider putting IT highish because it offers middle school-- nice to have the option. On the other hand, just because you can commute far doesn't mean you should. Test-drive in bad weather and consider your parking situation at the school. |
I agree with ranking by commute convenience. Two Rivers has middle school too, by the way. I'm happy with a kid at one on OP's list and living less than .5 mi from school is a big part of why it's so great for us with both parents reverse commuting outside of the city. |

What about the other good montessori schools, if you like montessori?
Lee is the best; Shining Stars is acceptable and a better shot of getting in. |
|
OP, it depends a little bit where you live on the Hill and also if you're IB is an option (ie, are you looking only for PK3 and PK4?). But I'd probably rank:
SWS 2R 4th ITS 2R Young CHML If you're really close to 2R Young, I might move it up on the list. (my kid goes to one of these schools) |
