Castle Laser Tag in Gaithersburg

Any reviews / experience with Castle Laser Tag? My son wants a laser tag birthday party, but for a number of reasons I really don't want to do Shadowlands. I think this Castle place is new (?) -- would appreciate any feedback.

It's great! Especially if you can avoid a Saturday (we did a Friday night) as it gets crowded. So much nicer than shadowlands.

My son had his party there last year when it was brand new. The kids had a lot of fun, and I like that it's well lit and clean -- unlike Shadowlands. The only complaint that the kids had was that at Shadowlands they can pick their own code name and get a personal score. The system at the Castle doesn't allow you to choose your own name (think you are auto-assigned) and the scoring isn't accurate. It also took multiple phone calls and emails for them to get back to me to book the party, so hopefully that's improved now. I think its a far better choice than Shadowlands.

PP. Thank you for the helpful feedback! Will a 9 year old think it’s babyish compared to Shadowland because the theme is knights/castles?

The 9 year olds are totally focused on the video games and laser guns -- they don't care about the theme.

We went by on a weeknight and asked to do a tour before we booked our party there and they were very nice. You could take your son over there and see if he thinks his friends would like it.

Do but thank you! Also considering this for my 10 year old boy.

My kid (almost 7) just went and loved it

I can't imagine anyone who would prefer shadowlands. Castle is so much newer and nicer, there is no comparison.

My daughter had her 10th birthday there. Big hit. They were also able to do the ropes course before doing laser tag.

DS's friend had his 8th birthday party there and it was a big hit. In between the laser tag sessions, the kids had a blast at the arcade games, which by themselves would be an enjoyable rainy day activity.
