Using Bus System with Twins/ Twin Stroller?

Help, new to area from westcoast, how do I use the bus system with a twin stroller?

I don't have any advice: I have a 2 and 1 year old and I'm too terrified to try taking them and our giant Graco Duoglider on public transport despite really wanting to take them to fun things in DC etc.

Apparantly tho it can be done, it just takes a braver (or more desperate) soul......
