| Upon rewatching it I feel bad for Mr. Collins. Sure he is not dashing and rich like Mr. Darcy, there is nothing truly awful about him. He earns a respectable living and is affiliated through employment with aristocracy. Why do Lizzie and the rest think him to be so odious? |
| I feel like if that's your takeaway no amount of explanation will help. |
Ok, Charlotte.

I assume you're speaking of the A&E series with Colin Firth?
Mr. Collins is super dumpy. They cast him perfectly. Perfectly bleh. |
He's a major kiss ass, OP. Plus, how many times could someone mention Rosings Park with such adoration without you wanting to strangle them? Also, the creepy version of him in the crappy version of P&P--the one with Keira Knightly is nothing like the book b/c the director didn't actually read the book. Do yourself a favor read the book and watch the A&E version of P&P. |
| Is this an MRA troll? |

Charlotte married him, so he's not bad like Wickham. He's a decent person who happens to be slightly dumb, self-centered and full of himself. A man for a patient woman. Not Elizabeth. |
| He is opportunistic, moralizing, indulges in schadenfreude, spreads gossip, is nauseatingly sycophantic, and deadly boring. |
| "Affiliated through employment with the aristocracy." Hahahahahaha. I feel like I've had a breakthrough regarding the psyches of a lot of DCUM posters. |
Plus he inherits Longbourn!

Bahahahahahaha |
LOLLLLL. |
| Best thread of 2017! |
