I am considering naming my baby Alice. I'm concerned, though, that people will constantly think we're saying "Alex" and she will have to correct others her whole life. Have you found that happens?
No I don't, but it's a cute name. Congrats!

I know an Alice. It has never been a problem.
Here's the thing: I'm Michelle and I've been called Melissa all my life. You can't predict these things, as hard as you might try. Name her Alice; it's lovely. |
Pretty name.
My daughter is an Alice and this has never been an issue. Oddly, a couple of people have thought her name is Ellis, thought that's probably because of the way she says it.
I know a 6yo Alice. I don't think she's had any issues with her name.
I can't imagine mixing up those names. As an aside, there is a beautiful song called Alice by the Cocteau Twins.
That's my favorite girls' name. If my son had been a girl, I would have named him Alice after my grandmother. I don't recall anyone ever calling her Alex. But some people screw up everyone's names, so some screw-ups are inevitable.
Know several Alice's growing up and also a child. Never heard it confused with "Alex." Wouldn't even occur to me as a possibility.
I love the name Alice
I've had 2 little Alices in my class the past few years. Both went by "Ali".
Getting it confused with Alex is the least of your worries. It's such an old women's name. Makes me think of the housekeeper from the Brady Bunch. I don't get the appeal and I can see why a young Alice would want to be called Ali.
That is off topic!

We have an Alice and her uncle is named Alex. It's confusing when they are colocated, but she has not otherwise been mistaken for Alex
We have a 2 year old Alex and people often think she is saying her name is Alice, FWIW. Particularly old people, so it may be a generational thing where Alice is familiar to them and Alex is only a boy's nickname.
