Who else enjoys reading Andrew Sullivan's blog? I'm sort of obsessed with it and have a mild crush on him (I know, I'm married and he is married too -- to a guy--so I know our romance would be doomed!) Anyway, I enjoy his unique perspective and really thoughtful writing. Anyone else? |
Who is Andrew Sullivan and what does he blog about? |
Love his blog. I check it a few times a day.
FYI to PP: Hi blog is on the Atlantic Monthly website. He blogs about politics (mostly) and culture. He identifies himself as a conservative but you might not know it from reading him. He's probably more of a libertarian. (I'm a liberal Democrat.) He's also the former editor of The New Republic, which is a liberal political magazine. He's always thoughtful and worth reading, whatever your political stripe. |
I love Andrew Sullivan too!
The OP will appreciate this story - I was introduced to him on the street in Georgetown when he first moved to DC from London. Can you imagine? And I still remember it - this was about 20 years ago!! |
PP here, hit submit to soon...point is, I can identify with her having a crush on him. I did, and that was before realizing he was gay...although my friend quickly informed me. And that fact that I even REMEMBER this! He definitely makes an impression! |
I overlapped with Andrew Sullivan in graduate school, which makes me old enough to remember his Gap ad. Anyone else? |
I respect his intelligence, sometimes agree with him, other times do not.
He is often misogynistic in his views, and I don't generally care for woman-hating men. Also, he is quite hypocritical. He gained notoriety speaking out as a conservative voice railing against promiscuity in the gay community (a perspective I actually support) - but was later called out for participating in bare-backing parties (sex parties in which no protection against HIV is used). |
I've never noticed any misogyny on his blog -- is it conventionial wisdom that he hates women? |
