I'm a risk taker, within reason, and although I need to live on a fairly tight budget, I could afford to be without a car for a while (or to buy a used car) if something were to happen to my car. I'd like to pay as little as possible for car insurance, but I don't want to be foolish.
I have a newer car, and I only drive about 5,000 miles a year. How would you configure your policy to save money? For example, choosing the minimum allowable amounts for liability coverage, rejecting PIP and rental car and roadside assistance coverage, choosing $2,000 deductibles for damage. What else?
