I love long distance hiking and we are going on the first family trip later this month with our 10 month old. (7 days of 10-12 miles per day) Any tips from folks? She loves long hikes in the Ergo, and has been happy as a clam the first few times in the frame carrier.
My main concern is rain. If it gets bad enough, we can bag the hike for the day, but if we get caught in something, I don't think the rain hood on the frame carrier is all that effective. Do they make teeny tiny rain slickers? |

They used to make a rain jacket specific for an infant / toddler in a frame carrier.
We got one from a neighbor. It may have been a European specific item - as the neighbors were German. REI has toddler sized Rain Jackets - here is a link: http://www.rei.com/product/771999 |
