Hello All:
I really liked this new development (Wincopia Farms) off of Gorman Rd in North Laurel. However hearing really bad things about Gorman Crossing Elem School and Murray Mill Middle School. Anyone have kids going to these two schools or any opinions to share? |
Don't do it. Hammond elementary/middle or fulton/lime kiln are much better. Checj Maple lawn to see if there are homes you like.
Any more update on this? we just purchased a house that zones into gorman crossing and murray hill. Kid is not yet in elem but will be in a couple of years.
Redistricting is on the radar for 2018/2019 so its best to wait and see. Hammond elementary and middle and Fulton/lime kiln are excellent. Move when its time for high school.

Atholton is the best in the South Eastern section of the county. I have heard unsavory things about Murray Hill as well. My friend has kids in Gorman and she is currently searching for ahome close to Lime Kiln.
My husband and I built a home in the Wincopia Farms Development and my son is attending kindergarten at Gorman Crossing Elementary. So far we like it and for Test Scores they are an 8/10. I am concerned about Murray Hill Middle School for the future but with the possible redistricting in the near future, I am optimistic that it will improve. Atholton is a Blue Ribbon school so the name speaks for itself. I am curious, did you decide on Wincopia Farms?
I’m so glad I found this post. My husband and I live in Laurel and we are looking at North Laurel at houses. I know nothing about North Laurel but I plan to fix that starting today. I’m curious to know about when Copia farms and how folks like it over there. And I’m also curious to know how people feel about the elementary schools that the original poster had mentioned.
