Heard from a few people that a couple boys were kicked off the basketball team for doing the Nazi salute in school.
Has anyone who has a child at the school heard anything from the principal.

You mean North Bethesda middle school?
I have a 6th grader there. He doesn't do basketball and hasn't heard anything. We usually receive a weekly update from the principal on Sunday evenings, so I'll see if he talks about this. I think the school was supposed to have a basketball event on Friday?

PP must be a Trump supporter. This isn't behavior that is okay or acceptable, PP. It isn't simple goofing off. And it needs to be addressed with a harsh and severe punishment so others know that it isn't okay.

We are a European family, and Nazi expressions would certainly concern us closely.

Absolutely agree that any kids making Nazi salute should be suspended.

On the broader point of "zero tolerance", I'm shocked by how lax/lenient MCPS is with respect to punishments in general.

I recently saw a 4th grade boy beating the cr*p out of another kid at an after-school extracurricular. I stopped the "fight", took the aggressor to the asst. principal. 15 minutes later the kid was participating in the activity again. Couldn't believe it.

There was an Instagram video of 2 boys doing the same at Richard Montgomery.

It was posted on the thread when people complained that kids from RM marched in protest for 1 hour.
