seeking hotel on lakefront beach within 2-4 hours driving distance

| We'd love to do a long weekend on a lake without an insane drive to get there. Unfortunately, can't go for a whole week, which probably rules out rentals, so we're looking for a hotel. Any ideas? |

How about Rocky Gap State Park? They have a hotel there.

| Down I-81 one or two exits beyond Blacksburg/Christianburg there is a huge lake/state park. Don't recall the name, but they were mentioned in the Post last month when they did a round up of cabin rentals. Beautiful, serene. |
