Keratin treatment, do you think I am owed a refund?

Anonymous
Two weeks ago I had a Keratin Treatment/Brazilian straightening done. When I called I was told it would be $280. When I got there, the lady told me my hair was longer than she thought. When I went to pay she told me it was $300 because my hair was longer than what she thought.
Fair enough, I did tell her my hair was below the shoulders but didn't specify how much below....
After 4 days of not washing or tying or putting hair up in any way, I washed it and started drying it, and to my horror it was still very frizzy!!!! I was told by the salon this would eliminate all frizz and straighten my hair.
I called the next day and was asked to stop by so they could see my hair. I went by, and the lady was surprised but agreed the top layer of my hair needed to be retouched, so I scheduled an appointment for yesterday. I went in yesterday and she retouched the top layer like we had agreed. I decided to buy some products too... When I went to pay, she said, it is $30 for the products and $50 for the hair.... she said this as she was swiping the card, and I was too surprised or shocked and angry and didn't say anything.
I know I should have spoken up, but I didn't. Is this common practice??? We had never talked about being charged a penny for coming back in. This was my first time ever going to a salon here in the States (I usually get my hair cut when I visit home) but my friends have told me that a fix is never charged.
What do you think? I called the salon as soon as I got home but I think everyone must have left by then, and left a message to the lady that did my hair telling her I wanted to talk about the $50 she charged me.
Should they refund my money???

They should refund your money as long as you followed their directions. Did you use the special shampoo and conditioner when you washed it for the first time? I had it done, and my frizz is all gone. My hair is straighter than I wanted it, but very shiny and soft.

Yes, I used the sodium free shampoo and conditioner they gave me when i first got it done. I followed directions perfectly. When I went in to show her she agreed it needed to be retouched.

I am not asking for the full $300 refund, but just the $50 touch up

You should definitely get a refund. I would have lost it if they would have charged me for a retouch. Call and speak to a manager.

I agree that you should get a refund for your $50. If she admitted that there should be no frizz then she shouldnt' have charged you. On another note, where did you get this done? Everywhere I look they charge A LOT more for Brazilian straightening (like $800).

Are you willing to say the name of the salon? Just curious because I am planning to have the same treatment done in DC.
