| What a dignified and complex portrait. Natalie Portman is a vision. |
| Agree. Natalie Portman is an amazing actress. I kept forgetting it wasn't Jackie and that it was Natalie even though their faces aren't so similar. They have the same tiny body. |
Jackie was actually tall and wore size 10 shoes. Very thin though, of course. I want to see this, but don't know if I can handle it. I'm sure I'd be a weepy mess. |
| My first thought when I heard about this film was it would be like a " made for TV " movie. I mean her story really already has been told many other times. But I'm anxious to see it given all the great reviews. |
|
I'm bummed this is getting good reviews because I'm really so sick of Jackie kennedy's story.
I loved Natalie Portman in Black Swan but heard a clip of her found Jackie's breathless and weird uppercrust, affected accent and thought, "oh hell no...." |
Me too. I am so tired of the Kennedy worship. and i'm boston irish catholic too. |
|
My mother and aunt are a few year apart, and one is a die hard Kennedy fanatic (Jackie O, Camelot, etc) and the other was conservative and very 'meh' on the Kennedys.
So I've always taken it to be about the age of our parents / grandparents, etc to how pervasive the Kennedy influence is in families. (Social and personal interest, not necessarily political interest.) |
| I saw the movie. Quite good. Can't believe people are commenting when they haven't even see the movie |
| So I'm not allowed to have an opinion on why I don't want to see the movie? Because simply making the movie is about the deification of Jackie and the Kennedy family yet again. |
| Is this in theaters? Or can I stream it somehow? |
Google it |
| My friend played one of the sisters in the funeral scene. She said wonderful things about Portman. |
In theaters now. |
