Where to stay? Clean, easy and entertaining, DH will not be joining us. My children are 5 and 6.

| I take my kids to Ocean City every year for 3 or 4 days right after school gets out - mine are a bit older (10 and 12). Last time we stayed at the comfort suites on Route 50 - it has rooms with two doubles and a sofa bed plus fridge at very reasonable prices, continental breakfast (cereal, bagels) included. It's not on the beach, which is good because the public beach is pretty loud and grungy, but is only 2 minutes from the boardwalk itself. I take the kids to the beach at assateague a few miles south, which is very family friendly, clean, and not filled with pierced, tattooed teens - far better than the public beach at OC. Definitely take the kids to minigolf - the best is Lost Treasure Minigolf. Restaurants are hard but I highly recommend the Sunset Grille and Fager's Island. |

My kids love OC Maryland and we go every year. They like the beach, a pool, riding bikes on the boardwalk and shopping and eating on the boardwalk. I like not having to drive anywhere, having a refrigerator and microwave in the room so we don't have to eat out a lot, and watching my kids have fun. So we stay at 19th street or below. That way I don't have to take the car out at all.
If you aren't interested in the boardwalk or don't mind driving to it, I would suggest around 90th to 110th streets. There are some nice hotels with swimming pools right on the beach and some good restaurants. Where you stay really depends on your budget. Hotels during summer season have quite a price range - from a low of about $150 to a high of around $600. It's hard to give you specific ideas without knowing your budget and your interests, but I hope I helped you to narrow your search down. |
| It's pricy, but we're staying at the Hilton Suites. A friend recommended it. It's north of the boardwalk, so hopefully avoids the throngs of teens and grunge a pp mentions. Look it up on tripadvisor.com. |
