Said my 8-year-old the other day. It came from a bag of organic carrots I ha gotten from either Trader Joe's or some other store, can't remember. I tasted it and she was right. It had no flavor, no sweetness. Any suggestions for where I can buy carrots that taste like carrots?

| Organic doesn't really mean much anymore...no regulation, they still use pesticides. |
| Did you taste several carrots from the bag? There are always one or two that aren't as flavorful as the others. It's just the random nature of produce. |
| We're these baby or what or carrots? I find baby carrots taste like water. |
| Yes, I tried others from the bag and they had a similar non-flavor. They were regular careots, not baby careots. Maybe we just got a bad batch? Maybe we just have to do csa or whole foods or something. |
| Maybe a bad batch. That said , we get organic rainbow carrots. I've found that, second to farmers market carrots , these are the best. |
| Yeah, that happens. |
| We eat a lot of raw carrots - TJs and Safeway are both unpredictable but WF organic ones are usually OK. Rainbow carrots seem better roasted, especially the yellow ones. |
| Get the organic carrots with the green tops, not the bagged ones. You have no real idea how long they have been in the bag and loose flavor as they age. |
| Sometimes the baby carrot bags have a lot of the water in them that they're rinsed with. It contains chlorine so can give a funny taste as well. |
I was going to say this. DS prefers the rainbow carrots. We buy them at MOMs. Plus the purple ones are really pretty since they are yellow inside. |
| Baby carrots are disgusting. |
|
Yeah baby carrots are almost always tasteless.
Just get regular carrots! They're more nutritious. |

Your eyes are going to freeze like that. PPs are right--the "baby" carrots are disgusting. They're watery and taste weird with a gross texture, and are just regular carrots that had all the goodness and flavor soaked and processed out of them before they were carved into baby shapes. |
