I stopped wearing polish on my toenails during the summer years ago because I read so much about phthlates and how many women are exposed to them through nail products.
But my feet look so much better with polished toes. Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a healthy nail polish? Something without all those nasty chemicals? There's a nail place near me that says it's "green" but whenever I walk by the open door, it smells chemical-y like all the other nail places. Maybe they used renewable wood in the floor, but I can't believe the nail polish is healthy. Anyone heard of or used such a thing? If so, where did you find it. Thanks, and my toes thank you. |

I think there are some that are better but nothing perfect. Ie there are ones without toluene and phthalates but as you aptly noted wi/the chemical smell comment, methinks they are not fantastic to use all the time. Remover is apparently even worse. I blogged about this about a year ago and had some specific product recs altho like I said this is old info (look in the comments too since DCUMs like wreke weighed in w/their faves):

| Butter London's nailpolishes are formaldehyde free and their colors are fabulous (www.butterlondon.com). Love them. |
| ZOYA |
| Acquarella has fantastic!!!! nail polishes. They only have about five ingredients and are the lowest ranked polish on cosmeticdatabase.com. I have reviewed them on http://thecheekypeach.com. |
