when did you stop "leaking?"

I have just weaned my son a week ago. I am wondering how long it takes for your breasts to stop leaking. I can't wait to not have to use the pads any more...! What was your experience?

How old is your baby? How often were you nursing when you started to wean? I think there will be different responses if you weaned an 8 week old vs an 8 month old vs an 18 month old.

FWIW, I weaned a 14 month old. Weaning started in earnest when he was down to 4 feedings a day and we took about three weeks to knock them all out. I don't think I needed nursing pads for more than a week, but I may have worn them a little longer just to be sure!

Oh gosh, I was a big leaker. I wore pads for months because I would really leak every time my milk let down.

I think I wasn't able to ditch them completely until 5-6 months and then I still had to wear a lightly padded bra just in case...

PP here - oh sorry, didn't realize you were talking about weaning. Oops!

I weaned my son at 18 months (he was nursing 2x a day at that point). I had to pump once a couple days after I weaned to relieve a bit of engorgement. I leaked once or twice when my son leaned heavily on my chest. I don't remember the leaking lasting longer than a week or two.
