Did you add a conduit trust to your will?

We're expecting our first soon and are getting a will done just in case. We're in our 30s so total assets are under $1 million so no massive wealth here. The lawyer is suggesting a conduit trust to allow our 401ks to pass through. I'm still doing some reading on this but it seems unnecessary. Just curious if anyone got a conduit trust and why.
