in-home Alexandria providers and licenses

| When I searched the VA Dept. of social services for licensed in-home day care providers near me in the city of Alexandria, only a few came up, and most had inspection violations I consider pretty significant. The city's website lists many, many more. I don't know how important it is that a provider has a state license rather than just a city license/registration (not sure exactly what it is). Would you be wary of a provider who wasn't licensed by the state? I'd appreciate any insight you could provide! I'm looking for care for an infant, and I really don't know how to go about this. |
