Would a townhouse in Arlington Village be a good spot?

You could buy or rent - a 2BDRM rental is $2,000/mo, which is a little less than 40% of your pay but living there might mean you wouldn't need a car.

Full Description
2 BR, 1 BA available January 1. One year lease then month-to-month (with 2-month termination) thereafter. Rent is $1950/month; includes gas. Newly remodel kitchen with granite countertops, large deck, new windows and new window treatments. Prime location sits off the main street and faces the ravine, pool and the Army/Navy golf course. One pet (under 75 lbs.) is allowed with a $150 non-refundable deposit. Contact Steve Doran at 202-215-1659 or sdgoods1@gmail.com.

The real answer is that you probably live in South Arlington, Bailey's Crossroads, Herndon, Alexandria or Woodbridge, but talking about some divorcees in North Arlington or McLean is more entertaining.

LOTs of single parents in "divorce camp" - the apartments in Clarendon right above Circa (the restaurant). No idea what the rent is but it's zoned for Key/Science Focus?Jamestown/Taylor.

You've never been to McLean, have you? If you are a certain age, you know for a fact there are tons of divorced men and women in McLean. Why would this bother you at all? Does it have to do with you?

Wow, this isn't slanted at all. :sarcasm: Not all divorcees live in those places that are less desirable. Nice try.

This question just made me think "Single Parents Alone Together! All for one and one for all!"
Good movie.
Sorry for the tangent. That is all.

OP asked about single moms, not just divorced moms. If you are a certain age, you might know that somewhere between 40-50% of single moms have never been married. I'm not sure what your issue is with McLean, but realistically given how expensive it is to live there it is going to have more high and dual-income families than most places, both of which are correlated with low divorce rates.
