Neighbors with junky looking blue tarps NOT helping curb appeal here

Anonymous
Our house is on the market. It's actually in a nice, pretty wooded area, but in the winter, you can see through the trees and all the people with patio furniture or firewood or whatever covered with BLUE tarps . . . it's like, nice yards, nice trees, then BLUE TARP! Trees, shrubs, nature -- BLUE TARP!

Ugh. It would make a huge difference to use a neutral color. Brown. Green. Black. Not bright BLUE. Why would you want to highlight your junk and or junky tarp?

Can I sneak out at night and replace them?

This is a tough time of the year to have a house up for sale. I feel for you. But I don't think that the tarps are that big of a deal TBH.

That's because they come in blue, not in a selection of colors. Although there are brown ones, but I think those are a stronger gauge, and therefore more expensive.

PP here. That said, I hate them, too. Was glad when DH finally built a covered firewood rack, so we could get rid of the tarps.

I like blue - it is easy to see. If for some reason it came loose and the pool was uncovered I would want a visual to help me!

Plant holly trees.

At least its not on their roof - I thought you meant it was a homeowner who couldn't afford repairs immediately or a vacant home.

I'm pretty sure you are legally allowed to sneak over and replace them.

We have some nice tarps with a hunting camo on them that we bought for camping. It's the camo that looks like the forest floor.

It is a lousy time to showcase your house if you have a wooded lot. Hopefully, buyers will understand it will be beautiful in the summer.

If you are our neighbor trying to sell your house with the neighbor with the tarps, it isn't the blue tarps that are the issue.

Buy them brown/camo tarps and leave them on the front door with a bow.

I don't think potential buyers will care. People understand that homeowners want to protect their patio furniture and keep their wood dry in the winter. I really wouldn't worry about the tarps.

No sane buyer would reject your house for this. They may appreciate having neighbors who take care of their stuff enough to protect it in the winter.

Wow, OP, you are being unreasonable here.

But you'll be glad to know that 99% of buyers are not as insane as you
