Jeff! The site still keeps crashing and reloading! Halp!!

Anonymous
On an iPhone 6, latest iOS, using Safari.

The website has been crashing and reloading for the past few days and I finally nabbed a screenshot of the page I was on when it happened. Anything I can do while browsing to prevent this?

Ditto on all counts except 6s iPhone.

Same here, on both iPhone SE and iPad Air 2.

It happens to me all the time on my iPhone 6 but Jeff says its because I'm running an ancient OS. #illneverupgrade

This is what I get as well. This one isn't really a big deal. iPad, ios9 (iPad model doesn't go any higher than that)

I've been trying to track down this problem for months. It only affects Safari. Moreover, at least for me, it is not a consistent problem. I may only encounter it 2 or three times a day and I am on the site constantly. I am still trying to get to the bottom of it, but it is very difficult to troubleshoot.

I've been experiencing this as well on my iPhone 6, but it usually re-loads immediately after so I guess I didn't think to report it.

A little annoying yes it is.

As noted above, I've been looking into this issue for quite a while. If you Google the issue, you'll see that it is pretty widespread (though I know most of you probably only experience it here):

https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=safari+crash+and+reload&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

The issue only occurs with Safari, or at least I've never had a report of it happening with any other browser. It may be related to memory usage on your device which would explain why it seems to happen more on iPhones.

If you have a rash of these crash and reload incidents, you might try force quitting Safari (if using iOS) to clear the memory.

I have learned a couple of new troubleshooting techniques that I plan to test today.
