| Please recommend a good and CHEAP smartphone for a teen. DD wants a good camera. My carrier is tmobile. |
| Whatever phone you have right now and get yourself an upgraded phone. No teen needs a new phone and you already know how to use yours. |
| I have a brand new iphone so that's not going to happen |
| What is your budget. I got my kid an iphone 5s for about 150. My kid is thrilled so far because it takes good pictures and it just works. |
Get an older model or a refurbished one, or buy off of the sites that buy them as trade ins. |
|
so an iphone 5 is functional enough and won't go obsolete too fast? For a teen?
|
Get at least a 5S or a 6. Or an iPhone SE. For reference Gazelle is selling iPhone 5s for ~$180-200. |
The 5 is fine. Should be good for 1-2 years at least. 5s even longer. Or get a newer model android. |
| Just bought a Samsung 5 for about $225. Works great. |
| I have the Moto Z Force, and I love it. They redesigned the charging port so that it wouldn't have the issue that they had with the Turbo 2. They are expensive, though, unless you can find a deal on them. When I bought mine at Verizon, they were buy one, get one. |
|
not a good idea - she just wants to post booty shots on IG for dudes to thirst at.
|
Yes. It is. Plenty good enough The kid will complain, perhaps, but that says more about your community than the phone is different than phone not being functional. |
This. We get our phones off eBay. There are very reputable sellers there and I must have purchased at least 8 phones over the years (for me, 2 kids, DH, my mother). My favorite model is the Samsung Galaxy S4 which goes for about $100. |
