What is your HHI and what is your take-home (after taxes, insurance, 401k, etc)?

How much do you take home every month after taxes, insurance, 401k, etc?

For us:
155k HHI

Take home:
5k every month

We have a 457 that we contribute double the 401k amount (ie 36k per year instead of 18).

I used to think that 155k would leave me swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck- alas, that is not the case!

Wow 3000 a month in your 457? That's why you are not swimming in cash. Not saying your are not doing the right thing on the contrary, I am completely lost on the retirement front...

For us 180kHHI, take home 10k (but then 1000k less a month for student loans and CC debts) so 9k

Take home - 12 k a month. Rest everything is invested after taxes and such. 12 k covers everything from mortgage, cars, food, vacations, travel, house remodeling, tutors, hobbies, eating out, maid etc. Very low mortgage, no student debt, no private schools.

I make a about $109k, which should be about $9k per month. I bring home about $4,300 per month. I max retirement ($18k + $5000 in Roth), pay the medical insurance for the family and pay the majority of the taxes. It still seems like I should be bringing home more but who knows...
